About this Event
Join us for the Workshop on Writing Competitive Proposals Leveraging AWS Technologies: Proposal Development in Action via NAIRR, taking place virtually on July 21–22, 2026, from 10:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. ET. Participants are expected to attend both days.
Turn an ambitious research idea into a clear, compelling request for the technologies needed to move it forward.
This two-day workshop will help faculty and staff strengthen proposals that require advanced computing power, cloud technologies, AI models, data resources, storage, software, or technical support. Using the NAIRR Pilot as a framework, participants will complete a guided proposal-development exercise focused on creating and justifying a research resource request using AWS technologies.
Participants will work with a hypothetical project for practice only. The proposal developed during the workshop is not intended to be submitted as part of the workshop. The workshop will include guided writing sessions, a Proposal Development Playbook, disciplinary breakout rooms, proposal coaching, and insights from successful NAIRR participants and resource providers.
Powered by AWS and supported in part by the U.S. National Science Foundation, the workshop is primarily intended for faculty and staff at HBCUs and community colleges.
