About this Event

September is Blood cancer awareness month and as an individual who has a family member who had leukemia cancer, I understand the importance of spreading awareness about blood cancers especially in the Black community. I had the honor of donating bone marrow to my mother and I can proudly say she is well and living. As a university who prides itself on Truth and Service, I believe we can take that extra step to be at service to someone in need. That is why it is important to be on the registry to become a potential donor for blood and bone marrow. Partnering with Howard University School of Medicine, GlobeMed, Be The Match, Health Professions Society, Sodexo Catering Flip Truck, and the Red Cross Ambassadors would allow for Howard University students, faculty, and admin to donate blood, get on the registry, and learn more about the effects of blood cancer in our precious community.
