About this Event
As part of Howard University’s Research Month, we invite you to join us for a powerful film screening of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, a compelling portrayal of the life and legacy of Henrietta Lacks. Her cells, taken without her knowledge or consent in the 1950s, led to breakthroughs in medical research that continue to impact science today. This event will shine a light on the intersection of science, ethics, and race, while honoring the contributions of Henrietta Lacks to modern medicine.
Following the screening, we will host a panel discussion with a Bioethics Expert who will delve into the historical and modern-day implications of the Henrietta Lacks story.
