Join us for an interactive town hall focused on the intersection of effective mentorship and the power of plain language in science communication. In today’s climate and fast-paced, information-rich world, the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas is essential, not only for engaging the public, but also for strengthening mentor-mentee relationships across disciplines and career stages. This event will bring together faculty and students to understand the importance and benefit of the mentor-mentee relationship.  Participants will also build skills for communicating science in plain language to successfully engage key audiences in conversations about critical issues.

Through discussion, shared experiences, and practical examples, we’ll examine how faculty and students alike can become better mentors, communicators, and collaborators by embracing clarity and accessibility in scientific communication.
