Research Month: Office of Research, Technology Transfer – After the Paper and Beyond the Lab: From Research to Real World Impact

This event is a multi-part, skills‑building workshop designed to give faculty and researchers a strong foundational understanding of how Howard University supports the journey from research discovery to commercialization, public impact, and external partnerships. Participants will gain practical clarity on the technology transfer process and how to position their work for broader impact. This event will offer faculty and researchers a practical, immersive introduction to early‑stage commercialization. Through rotating stations and direct engagement with innovation stakeholders, participants gain applied experience with key processes such as invention disclosure, intellectual property preparation, pitch development, funding pathways, and internal partnership navigation. By the end of the session, participants will have hands-on exposure to the core steps, documents, decisions, and partnerships that shape the commercialization pathway at Howard University. They will leave with clearer guidance, practical tools, and direct connections to support their innovation journey.
