Howard University is pleased to invite you to the Inspiring Academic Excellence & Innovation Awards, an awards program dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the exceptional achievements of our faculty and research staff.
These awards honor individuals whose work exemplifies excellence beyond traditional expectations, advancing scholarship, enriching student success, fostering innovation, and creating meaningful impact within the university and broader society.
About the Awards
The Inspiring Academic Excellence & Innovation Awards celebrate outstanding contributions in:
- Teaching and mentorship
- Research and scholarly publications
- Community service and engagement
- Creative works, innovation, and invention
Recipients represent diverse disciplines, including the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Medicine, Health-related fields, and STEM, and embody Howard University’s commitment to academic distinction and societal advancement.
Purpose of the Program
This awards program is designed to:
- Recognize faculty and staff who demonstrate exemplary achievement in research, teaching, creativity, innovation, and service
- Elevate the visibility of outstanding academic contributions across disciplines
- Promote scholarly and innovative work that advances academic discourse and fields of study
- Honor contributions that support Howard University’s institutional goals, strengthen student outcomes, and generate positive societal impact
