View map Free EventPlease join us on Wednesday, April 8, to attend two upcoming information sessions featuring Dr. Paul Campbell, Scientific Director at the American Cancer Society (ACS). Dr. Campbell will provide an overview of ACS funding opportunities and share insights into the application and peer review process. These sessions are designed for faculty as well as graduate students and postdoctoral fellows interested in pursuing ACS research funding.

Dr. Campbell oversees peer review and grants management for the Cell Biology and Preclinical Cancer Research program at ACS, supporting research in cancer cell biology, tumor microenvironment, experimental therapeutics, and translational science. Prior to joining ACS, he served as faculty in the Cancer Signaling and Microenvironment Program and The Marvin and Concetta Greenberg Pancreatic Cancer Institute at Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Department of Cancer and Cellular Biology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University.

As the nation’s largest private, not-for-profit funder of cancer research, ACS supports innovative research across basic, translational, clinical, and cancer control science. This session will provide an overview of ACS funding mechanisms available to faculty investigators, including eligibility requirements, application strategies, and details about the peer review process. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions during an interactive Q&A.

This session will highlight how ACS supports the next generation of cancer researchers through competitive funding opportunities. Dr. Campbell will discuss ACS postdoctoral fellowships and related resources designed to help graduate students and postdoctoral fellows build successful research careers. Participants will learn how to position themselves competitively for these awards and make the most of their training years.
