2025 represents 24 years of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a time dedicated to action, advocacy, and the prevention of sexual assault. This year's national theme, announced by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) is: "Together We Act, United We Change" This year’s theme charges communities to grow their understandings of sexual violence and its impacts, empower survivor voices and actively contribute to creating safe environments for all.
It's essential to commit and recommit to collective efforts toward building a safer campus and community environment. 7 years ago, Howard University launched the HU Stands Campaign, igniting action to create and maintain a campus that is safe, respectful, and supportive for all.
