Funded by The Bezos Foundation, the HUSOE Digital Lab presents a workshop on Black globalization.
This session will explore how transnational Black perspectives:
- Challenge Eurocentric curricula
- Strengthen culturally sustaining pedagogies
- Foster global solidarity in addressing educational inequities
Participants Will Explore:
• Black globalization as a critical framework for educators
• How global solidarity challenges dominant curricular paradigms
• The role of interconnected Black knowledge systems in teaching and learning
About the Facilitator
Dr. Katherine Norris is Professor and Chair of Curriculum and Instruction at Howard University. She is a nationally recognized scholar in multicultural education, curriculum development, and family partnerships.
Her work spans:
- Global curriculum development (Fulbright Specialist, South Africa)
- Teacher pipeline diversification initiatives
- Multicultural education leadership
She is co-editor of Social Justice and Parent Partnerships in Multicultural Education Contexts and recipient of the 2020 Multicultural Leader of the Year Award.
