Howard University men’s and women’s basketball coaches, Kenneth Blakeney and Ty Grace, respectively, will hold summer camps to help youth with skill development and gain a greater insight on the benefits of teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Coach Blakeney’s Bison Basketball Camps return to Burr Gymnasium with a multitude of options for boys and girls and players of all ages and skill levels. The Elite Camp is designed to help high school athletes gain exposure to the coaching staff for potential scholarship opportunities. The camp features multiple daily scrimmages, along with recruiting workshop and campus tour, giving campers a 360-degree view of the Howard Men’s Basketball program. Blakeney’s Elite Camp has produced multiple success stories - most notably Jeremiah Johnson, an incoming Howard University freshman, who attended both the 2023 and 2024 Elite Camps before earning a scholarship offer from Blakeney. The camps will be held as follows:
- Skills Camp 1: June 23-27 (Ages 6-18)
- Skills Camp 2: July 14-18 (Ages 6-14)
- Skills Camp 3: July 28-August 1 (Ages 6-14)
- Elite Camp: August 4-5 (Ages 14-19)
