This event, hosted by the Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center of Howard, is a panel discussion assessing the human cost of U.S. withdrawal from the UN Permanent Forum on People of African Descent. Our featured speakers include Justin Hansford, Howard Law Professor, Executive Director of the Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Center, and a Founding Member of the UN Permanent Forum on People of African Descent; Desiree Cormier Smith, Alcee L. Hastings Global Leadership Fellow of the Global Futures Collaborative powered by the RBC, and Former US Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice US Department of State; and student moderator Amanda Lettman, a sophomore political science major, philosophy minor, and Research Director for HU Lawyers Without Borders.
