Join scholar Dana Williams, author of the new book Toni at Random, and acclaimed novelist Jacqueline Woodson for the keynote conversation of the program. Together, they celebrate the power of storytelling, literature, and the ways words shape culture, identity, and community.
 
 
Dana Williams: Dana A. Williams is Dean of the Howard University Graduate School and a specialist in contemporary African American literature. She is the author of Toni at Random: The Iconic Writer’s Legendary Editorship (2025), which chronicles Toni Morrison’s editorial work at Random House, and has served in leadership roles in major literary and scholarly organizations.
 
 
Jacqueline Woodson: Jacqueline Woodson is the author of 40 books for young people and adults, including Brown Girl Dreaming, Another Brooklyn, and Red at the Bone. A Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellow, she has served as National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and founded Baldwin for the Arts.
