AI Curriculum Development Workshop for Howard University Faculty

Howard University is taking important steps toward building an Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum, and we need your expertise and ideas to support this effort. Our initial goal is to develop a three-course AI certificate for undergraduate and graduate students.
 

On Monday, October 6, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (EST), we invite Howard faculty from all disciplines to gather to inform the design of two core courses, AI Fundamentals and AI Ethics, as well as a third discipline-specific course to be housed in each School or College. We will draw inspiration from the University of Florida’s AI Fundamentals model.

If you cannot attend the workshop, you are also welcome to submit ideas by emailing AI@howard.edu. All ideas will be honored, though not every suggestion can be implemented.

After our initial meeting, we will host virtual follow-up sessions to share initial outcomes and gather additional feedback.
