The Monthly Research Colloquium Lecture Series organized by the Howard University's Interdisciplinary Research Group on African and African Diaspora Studies resumes its activities this semester..
You are warmly invited to attend the presentation of Dr. Mayra Santos-Febres, Afro-Puerto Rican Writer, Activist and Professor at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. Dr. Santos-Febres is currently the Principal Investigator for the development of University of Puerto Rico’s Afro Diasporic and Race Studies Program, which has been recently awarded with a Mellon Foundation grant for academic diversification.

The HU's Interdisciplinary Research Group on African and African Diaspora Studies is housed in the HU's Department of World Languages and Cultures (DWLC), a academic unit of the College of Arts and Sciences. The current event is being possible thanks to the. active sponsorship of the Hu's Center for African Studies and the Center for Women, Gender & Global Leadership. It is organized in partnership with Changó, HU's Afro-Latine Student Association & Spanish-Speaking Society, the DWLC Brown Bag Lecture Series, University of Maryland, College Park, and Georgetown University.
