Join us for a lecture with Dr. Asma Amina Belem on "Environmental Justice in Sino-African Cooperation: The Case of Burkina Faso".
Abstract:
As economic ties between China and Africa grow stronger, concerns about the environmental impact of Chinese activities on the African continent are also rising. Join Dr. Belem as she discusses these issues in a study on a civil society movement in Burkina Faso that preserved a state forest, which was at risk of being partially declassified to make way for a Chinese-funded project.
