Please join the College of Engineering and Architecture for our CEA Makerspace Ribbon Cutting and Reception on Thursday, April 16 from 9:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Lewis K. Downing Hall, located at 2300 Sixth Street, Washington, DC 20059.

The CEA makerspace is a first-of-its-kind space on our campus, thoughtfully designed for creativity, innovation, and community engagement. This transformative space will house premium professional grade 3D printing, waterjet and laser cutting, engraving, welding and computer equipment and will serve as a lighthouse for future collaborations.

We are honored to welcome you to join our special guests, Andrew Anagnost, Autodesk president and chief executive officer, Dara Treseder, Autodesk chief marketing and commercial officer and CEA Board of Visitors’ member, and other esteemed local officials and community leaders in celebrating our new makerspace.

As one of nine Autodesk university partners, we are grateful for our partnership with and continued support from Autodesk, as well as the generous support from the Hopper-Dean Foundation and Snap-on.

Apr 20, 2026: CEA Student Research Expo at Blackburn Center (Armour J. Blackburn University Center)

The inaugural College of Engineering and Architecture Student Research Expo will take place on Monday, April 20 at 10am in the Blackburn Ballroom. This event highlights the outstanding work our students are doing across the disciplines within our college and gives them a platform to share their research with a wider audience. In addition to showcasing student achievement, the expo offers valuable networking opportunities with partners and professionals in the field. It also gives students the chance to strengthen their oral and written presentation skills as they prepare for future academic and professional opportunities beyond our campuses.
